inetutils-talk software package provides talk to another user, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install inetutils-talk
inetutils-talk is installed in your system.
Make ensure the inetutils-talk package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep inetutils-talk *
You will get with inetutils-talk package name, version, architecture and description in a table
